Kirk Powers
Kirk Powers
A native of New York City, Kirk Powers is a prolific bass player who has appeared on a staggering number of recordings, tours, clinics and other events. Growing up in the city exposed him to many different styles of music.

With contributions to RIAA-Certified Gold and Platinum recordings, his resume includes collaborations with Roger Nichols (Steely Dan Producer), Deborah Gibson (Atlantic Records), Casey James (American Idol), American Tears (Columbia Records), Dave Lebolt (Keyboards with David Bowie, Billy Joel), Steve Hass (Manhattan Transfer) David Baker (Sony), Jellybean Benitez (Madonna) and many others.

Kirk also completed two world tours with pop star Debbie Gibson (Deborah Gibson) with video and record sales which earned him two multi-platinum discs. Credits also include broadcast commercials for Lincoln/Mercury, Island of Jamaica, as well as a string of other radio and TV ads.

Some live and recorded television programs include the hit TV series The Wonder Years, American Music Awards, Late Night TV, Arsenio Hall Show, Entertainment Tonight, HBO Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary and multiple Dick Clark productions. Kirk has also opened shows for Foreigner, Robert Plant, Peter Frampton, Foghat, Bonjovi, Phil Collins, Bee Gees, Belinda Carlisle, UFO, Led Zeppelin and others.

In 2010, Kirk was the first bass player called to fill the open bass chair in the legendary, southern rock band Point Blank. With their hits Oh Nicole and Mean to Your Queenie, Point Blank is now out on tour again in Switzerland, France, Poland, Sweden, Belgium, Monaco and the USA. Says Kirk “When touring, people come up to me all the time to tell me, what an influence the band had on them years ago. Some tell me that they named their little girls Nicole just because of the song Oh Nicole. I am beside myself!“

And if that isn’t enough, Kirk is also the principal R&D person for Alleva Coppolo Basses and Guitars contributing to design features, ergonomics and electrical preamp magnetic pickup research.

Kirk currently resides in a small town north of Austin, TX and is an animal and dog advocate in his free time.

Quote from Artist:
I am fortunate enough to play many different styles and gigs. Since moving to Texas 15 years ago or so, I have gotten back to a more rootsy playing style allowing me to work with some of the hot shot Texas guitar slingers.. My Genz Benz gear allows me to get a HiFi tone for a pop gig if I’m playing a top 40 club band, or swampy groovin’ tubey sounds as when I’m touring with Point Blank or any number of my local gigs with Big Wampum and others. And the DI out is so good I get compliments ALL THE TIME from some notable engineers. I always say, If I can’t break it, no one can… And these amps just keep on going! ~Kirk Powers
