Daryl Stuermer's road to success began on the south side of Milwaukee where at age 11 when he first picked up the guitar. A wide range of influences ranging from Elvis to Hendrix and John McLaughlin along with some serious wood shedding prepared him for what would be his first world tour at age 22 with Jean-Luc Ponty.
In December of 1977 Daryl began his 20 year relationship with Genesis that Phil Collins defined as "a permanent-temporary-part time member". It seems Phil's emphasis was on "permanent" because when Collins formed his own group in 1982, he chose Daryl as lead guitarist, a role Daryl has filled to present date (25 years and counting).
Daryl has performed on all of Collins solo records and shares writing credits on numerous Grammy winning albums. When Collins is not touring, Daryl enjoys a successful solo career which began with his first instrumental solo album "Stepping Out" on GPR records.
Last year Daryl had the opportunity to play a Genz Benz Shen-Pro acoustic amp at "Top Shelf Music" in Milwaukee and decided immediately it was the best he had ever played. " I love the FET-Tube blend feature. What a great concept!" related Stuermer.
"It's very crisp and clean sounding amp". Daryl purchased the amp then and there.
